Impressive Victorian buildings line the wide streets of Bendigo, as a reminder of the rich history built from one of the world’s most significant gold rushes.

Today there are new treasures to be discovered in this thriving city. Bendigo is a place where you can indulge your passion in the arts, rich history and heritage, enjoy local produce and quality wine – Bendigo touches all the senses.

Not only does Bendigo offer visitors the charm and excitement of provincial city life, it provides the chance to get back to nature through a unique natural heritage. Bendigo is known as a “City within a Forest”, being completely surrounded by National and Regional Parks. Box-Ironbark forests have been shaped by over 40,000 years of indigenous involvement, gold fever and more recently, recreation.

There are kilometres of interweaving cycling tracks through the Bendigo bush, many leading to lookouts with breathtaking views of the city and surrounding countryside. There are also cycling trails throughout the city that highlight the magnificent heritage of this region.
